The many faces of Robin Williams

By Len DeGroot, Javier Zarracina and Armand Emamdjomeh

Robin Williams, a beloved comedian and actor, died Monday in what the Marin County Sheriff's Office said was an apparent suicide. He was 63.

Over the years Williams was open about his struggles with depression and substance abuse. Despite his personal demons, more than anything Williams made us laugh. He made more comedy films than all other genres combined. Here is our tribute to the many characters he played on the silver screen.

FOR THE RECORD: A previous version of this graphic misidentified two of Robin Williams' film roles. He played cabaret owner Armand Goldman, not his partner Albert in "The Birdcage," and crime writer Walter Finch, not a detective in "Insomnia."
