David Bowie: A half-century of music

David Bowie, one of the true musical iconoclasts in an industry that celebrates idiosyncrasy, entertained and challenged audiences for decades. His 27 studio albums were just a small portion of his contributions to pop music. He made several live albums and collaborated on more than 30, including with musical legends like Iggy Pop, Queen and Bing Crosby.

He died on Sunday, Jan. 10, after an 18-month battle with cancer, leaving behind an awe-inspiring musical catalog.
