Traversing the Valley
Lankershim Boulevard runs through Sun Valley, past strip malls, marijuana dispensaries and empty storefronts, before angling through North Hollywood's arts district and ending seven miles later just past the attractions and sound stages of Universal City.
Marijuana dispensaries
The north end of Lankershim has become home to nearly a dozen medical marijuana dispensaries, notable for their bold signage, telltale green crosses and mirrored or frosted windows.
NoHo stations
The Metro Red Line subway and Orange Line busway have stations on either side of Lankershim. There are plans to connect them with a tunnel.
NoHo Arts District
A colorful sign spans Lankershim's North Hollywood Arts District. The area got a boost in the early 1990s from redevelopment funding and has flourished since the Red Line opened.
Campo de Cahuenga
Not much is left of the adobe building where in 1847 Gen. Andres Pico signed a treaty with Lt. Col. John C. Fremont, signaling a truce in the U.S.-Mexican War.
