The runoff election pitting Sheila Kuehl against Bobby Shriver for an open seat on the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors is shaping up to be a pivotal contest that could shift the balance of power on a panel with regionwide influence.
A Times analysis of the June primary results showed the range of Kuehl's strength and how an endorsement from third place finisher John Duran's endorsement might help, particularly for Shriver.
Footnote: The results here are from semi-official tallies released the day after the election. Some provisional ballots remain to be counted.
