How Los Angeles County voted

Los Angeles County voters over­whelm­ingly chose to reelect Pres­id­ent Obama on Tues­day. The pres­id­ent racked up a mar­gin of nearly 1 mil­lion votes over Re­pub­lic­an nom­in­ee Mitt Rom­ney.

This map shows the res­ults in the more than 4,600 pre­cincts where voters cast a bal­lot in per­son, which amoun­ted to great­er than 80% of the 2.3 mil­lion votes counted. It ex­cludes ap­prox­im­ately 440,000 votes cast by mail as well as pro­vi­sion­al bal­lots, some of which have not yet been tallied.
